Church Annual Meeting 2016

Dear Church of the Redeemer Family and Friends:

A new year is often a time of renewal and re-commitment. This past year we celebrated many things proclaiming the Word and the blessing of God for the future while beginning the 55th year of ministry.

In addition, at the end of December we celebrated the Advent Season through music, drama, children, and the Word. Many people participated through our various outreach programs as we were able to bless many children from our community and local school in keeping with our theme of, “Redeeming the Community through Service and Love.”

Furthermore we completed another missions-focused ministry year supporting and hosting those in the global field. At the same time, we continued to support local mission work with our community based events, prison visits, homeless feedings, Sunday School in the Park evangelism, child evangelism, Mecado Support Ministry, and others. Please consider joining others who will pledge to give a monthly offering of $20 or $10 toward our missionary and evangelism efforts.

Finally, on Sunday January 31st at 1:00pm we will be holding our Annual Business meeting. You are invited to participate in hearing additional information of the church and the various ministries that seek to draw and develop people in the love of Jesus. In addition, the membership will be electing four Church Board members to serve a two year term. Your participation is important in the continued development of the ministry.

We begin a new partnership with Kenmore Elementary of Baldwin Park Unified School District, Redeeming Time, with an after school tutoring program sponsored by a generous grant. There are also projects such as our playground, pre-school, and others that continue to be in consideration and pursuing development.

Please contact the church office for additional information. May the Lord Bless you and keep you. May He cause His face to shine upon you and give you peace.

In His name,

Who Will You Invite?

We survived our first blog post!  And we are back at it again.  We are really stepping up our game at Church of the Redeemer.  Now we have our own blog on top of our Facebook page and we are even on Twitter.  This is a really exciting time to be part of our church.

Last week we shared with you the upcoming Back to Church Sunday.  This is an event were as a church we “invite America back to church”.  Did you know that only 2% of church members invite an unchurched person to church.  That means that 98% of church-goers never extend an invitation in a given year.  This is according to Dr. Thom Rainer author of “The Unchurched Next Door”.  This is a pretty staggering statistic.  That’s why Church of the Redeemer wants to change that.  Take this opportunity to invite a friend or family member back to church.  If you think its to hard to do, then here is an easy solution.  Click on the link below to email an invitation to a friend.  It’s as easy as that.

Invite a Friend

Back to Church Sunday will be on September 16 and will be all about our new/returning guests.  We can promise that they will not regret joining us in worship that Sunday.  One of the things that we are proud of as a church is that there is always something for everyone.   There are many ministries that they can be part of and events that they can join.  But all they need is that invitation.  Will you take a step of faith and invite them?

Welcome to our NEW Blog

Great things are going on at Church of the Redeemer and now you can find it all out through our NEW blog. This is our first post and we are hoping this blog becomes a place where you can see what is going on at Redeemer and what we are all about.

For example, on September16,2012 Church of the Redeemer is joining the National Back to Church Sunday movement to help “Invite America Back to Church.”

Last year, 7600 churches from 34 denominations participated in the national movement, and together they gave out millions of invitations to church. This year, Church of the Redeemer is participating and we need your help! Let’s reach out to our friends, family and neighbors. People need to know that there is hope and a community of people like our church who will love them and do life with them. Check out this promotional video for Back to Church Sunday: http://youtu.be/cPTb11N3jnU.

We encourage you to step out in faith and invite someone to rediscover church. We are planning a special service on September 16, 2012 so that our new guests will feel welcome and comfortable. Inviting a friend is a simple gesture that could change someone’s life. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to invite your friends and family to church with you.

So we encourage you to follow our blog. You can also find us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to get the most up to date information.
